Scott Flannagan. FACEM. Father. Fantastic Husband. Fun guy.

With the looks of Doug Ross and the enthusiastic spirit of John Carter, Dr. Scott Flannagan became a ACEM fellowship trained emergency physician 2013, completed a fellowship through the Ultrasound Leadership Academy a year later as well as obtaining his CCPU (certificate of clinician performed Ultrasound) through the Australiasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine.  Starting out in Jasper, IN, a city of gold and wonderment, he went on to Indiana University to improve his social interacting skills. After graduation, he left the american shores for sun-kissed australia, completing medical school at the University of Sydney and the majority of his emergency medical training within the Hunter New England Network of NSW, centered in Newcastle, NSW.  He is currently the Director of Emergency Services at Maitland Hospital, NSW. His clinical interests revolve around critical care management in ED, workforce planning and Point of Care Ultrasound use. He has remained a Clinical Leader in Emergency Ultrasound in the Hunter New England Local Health District for the past 6yrs, providing education and clinical governance across multiple Hunter New England sites. He is a co-founding member of EMUGs (Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Group) and currently runs the HUMMER (Hunter Ultrasound Modular Emergency RUSH) point-of-care Ultrasound course at John Hunter Hospital and Maitland Hospitals. He is blessed to have a loving and supportive wife, 3 ok children, 2 badly behaved dogs, feral guinea pigs, a random rabbit and supposedly a cat. He enjoys a pethora of outdoor activities and will try anything at least once.
